prohibition and society

 On 16th January 1919 the 18 amendment (prohibition) was put into effect it was meant to stop the selling and consuming of intoxication drinks. Not every one went with the flow some people just loved their beer. Some it was their earning, with their speakeasies closed they went jobless and broke.

 This caused illegal selling of the goods by  bootleggers, who sold it illegally, people going on demonstrations as shown above. Overall the people who supported this the most were women considering it had the most negative effect on them most .

Prohibition caused more harm than good and in the end was lifted as an amendment
