The Civil Rights Movement

the civil rights movement

After years of being oppressed discriminated and made a laughing stock the blacks finally took a stand to better their and the next generation's lives. To archive this goal they made the civil rights movement , in generally it was a series of efforts to gain blacks freedom and equal rights and treatment. Some examples of these efforts include:  The Brown v. Board of Education (1954) case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public school for black and white students unconstitutional , this earned the blacks fair education.
Another effort was when Rosa Parks, an African American woman, was arrested for refusing to surrender her seat to a white man. the blacks protested this was called the Montgomery bus boycott basically the blacks walked to their destinations instead of taking the bus which had a negative affect on the bus business hence them getting the bus Jim crow laws banned.
In addition the 1957-1958 Little Rock School Crisis: when blacks were enrolled in a fomerly racially segregated school. It caused outrage and they were literally refused to enter the school  by Orval Faubus governor of the state , he even seriously put guards .Later  the supreme court made a  decision declaring all laws  of establishing segregated schools  unconstitutional.

another effort was the sit-ins where for examples students sat in white only restaurants without causing any violence until they were served, the freedom raiders where the ones who took interstate bus rides too segregated south areas to fight racial prejudice and segregation.the results were the removal of ''white'' and ''black'' signs on a lot of things restaurants, fountains, toilets etc and passengers regardless of race were allowed to sit where they wanted on trains, buses etc

The 1963 civil rights protest in Birmingham was another effort for civil rights for blacks. This one didn't go so well Eugene Connor a racist led cops to brutally brake the protests he said Birmingham was not going to take it. Demonstrators were bitten by dogs sprayed by hoses and beaten by policemen. Business men realized they were midst of a public relations disaster and quietly made a negotiation that resulted to desegregation of lunch counters, fitting rooms, agreed to hire more African american workers and remove white only signs from fountains and restrooms. Connor said he would have got away with it if it wasn't for the  business men. a good thing came out of it JFK backed the civil rights act.

More than 200,000 Americans gathered in Washington on August 28th 1963 for jobs and freedom. It was known as the 1963 march on Washington. Many speeches were given but one that had most attention was Martin Luther King's'' I have a dream. ''speech. Basically the march was to shed light on segregation etc and it was supported by JFK.

The Holocast

The Holocaust

The holocaust in general was a result of Hitler's going into power and commencing his plan to eliminate all Jews. During the holocaust Jews were  first discriminated denied things others got for example services: Jews ere banned from restaurants, apartments etc. and there shops were burnt.

Then came the next phase the separation or isolation from the Germans, Jews were to live in given areas or districts as instructed by Hitler and they were to wear labels to show that they were Jews separating from the Germans.

Then came the next and last phase. Extermination. After they were they were isolated into specific areas they were held and used used as slave labor and most were killed to reduce on the population  by shooting burning but the most effective way was the gas chambers (this was where Jews were poisoned by gas.)

luckily in the end they were rescued by the allied troops.

Cause Of WW2

Cause of ww2

Adolf Hitler driven through a crowd of supporters during the 10th anniversary of the national socialist movement.
The cause of world war two was the racism and plans of dominance of  fascist leaders like dictator Adolf Hitler and others.  If he and others weren't so racist and obsessed with ruling all ww2 could have been avoided.

poverty in the 1930s

poverty in the 1930s

When national depression in 1991- hit it had a lot of impact on many things like trade, individuals,  etc. But most importantly the impact it had on families. For example when banks wet broke a lot of people lost their money and in that age like now, money is like a basic need to live , to buy food , afford shelter etc., people lost their jobs since bosses couldn't afford them. Trade declined because no one had money to buy the goods, people went starving, people couldn't afford colleges hence the reduction of the number of people going to college, families were separated , like for examples husbands abandoned families because they couldn't afford them and some parents had to send give their children to relatives since they couldn't take care of them , there were massive riots by the affected demanding for support from the government which caused death .It lead to the development of support programs for the poor , to help them  survive. Some people resorted to crimes like stealing , murder etc.   Other than that, since there was no money people were forced to work even in their bad conditions like broken limbs etc.
